Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Raka, an iPhone app made by Harris Gani (“we”, “us”). By using Raka, you agree to them. Your use of Raka is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA applies.

Raka Pro subscriptions

• What Pro includes: on the free plan, Raka blocks your chosen apps at Fajr. Raka Pro blocks them at all five daily prayers and at Jummah on Fridays.
• Payment: subscriptions and one-time purchases are bought through Apple and charged to your Apple Account. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
• Free trial: if a free trial is offered, you won’t be charged until it ends. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you’re charged automatically.
• Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You’re charged for the next period within the 24 hours before renewal.
• Cancelling: you can cancel anytime in Raka (Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription) or in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then Raka moves to the free plan.
• Refunds: Apple handles all payments, so refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Price changes: if a subscription price changes, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before charging the new price.

Prayer times

Raka calculates prayer times from your location using standard astronomical methods. Calculated times can differ from your local mosque’s times, depending on the method, Asr timing and local adjustments. Raka is a tool to help you pray on time, not a religious authority. Please check times with your local mosque or scholars when it matters.

App blocking

Raka blocks apps using Apple’s Screen Time features. Blocking depends on iOS, your device settings and the permissions you grant, and it may not work in every situation, for example if Screen Time access is turned off, your device is restarted at certain moments, or iOS changes how these features work. Raka always lets you unlock your apps with Emergency unlock. Don’t rely on Raka to restrict access to anything you need for your safety, health or work.

Using Raka

You may use Raka for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, or use it in a way that breaks the law or interferes with how it works.

Changes to Raka and these terms

We may update Raka, add or remove features, or change these terms. If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Raka after a change means you accept the new terms.

No warranty

Raka is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties of any kind, including that Raka will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for missed prayers, lost data or lost time, arising from your use of Raka. Our total liability for any claim relating to Raka is limited to the amount you paid for Raka in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
